BCPS Evening Journal Club Dinners
The BC Pediatric Society offers CME accredited evening Journal Club dinners, which feature a speaker and topic identified by BCPS as of interest and importance to pediatricians. We also offer one or two day CME events.

On September 29, 2011 the BC Pediatric Society presented Ontogeny of the Innate Immune System - Implications for Infectious Risk Periods and Response to Vaccination by Dr. Tobias R. Kollmann.
The learning objectives of this session were:
- List key functions of the innate and adaptive immune system; contrast them against each other.
- Identify key differences between the early and adult life innate immune response.
- List major periods of age dependent susceptibility to particular infections and their relevance to the innate immune ontogeny.
- Describe the potential role of molecular regulatory mechanisms that drive immune ontogeny.

On April 8, 2011, the BC Pediatric Society presented Dr. Jane Finlay from Children's Hospital, who provided a Childhood and Adolescent Vaccine Update. The learning objectives of this session were:
- describe the efficacy and safety data of newly licences vaccines
- discuss the most recent NACI and CPS recommendations for childhood and adolescent immunization
- review the changes to the BC Immunization Schedule

On November 26, 2010 the BC Pediatric Society presented Friday Night Fever: A Guide to the Periodic Fever Sydromes for the Pediatrician. The learning objectives of this session were:
- Raise awareness among pediatricians of this group of disorders
- Increase knowledge about the disorders
- Introduce the newer biologic treatments being used
