One of the main goals of the BC Pediatric Society is to provide accredited educational events for pediatricians and other health care professionals.

The two main programs we provide are:

Evening Journal Club

Dinners

The BC Pediatric Society offers CME accredited evening Journal Club dinners, which feature a speaker and topic identified by the BCPS of interest and importance.

This series of presentations focuses on topics of interest to pediatricians. We survey our members to see what topics they want to hear about, so if you have a request, please let the BCPS Executive Director know at bcpeds@cw.bc.ca.

Children’s Health

Today

You won’t want to miss this upcoming conference which is presented through a partnership between the BC Pediatric Society and the Division of Biochemical Diseases, Department of Pediatrics, BC Children’s Hospital.

Through lectures and small group workshops, this 2-day meeting (October 19 and October 20) will explore current issues in pediatric and metabolic diseases, with an emphasis on up-to-date management approaches for children with metabolic diseases relevant to the pediatric general practice.

We Value our Members, and our Members Value Us!

The BC Pediatric Society represents all pediatricians in British Columbia through our affiliation with the Doctors of BC (as the Section of Pediatrics), as well as with the Society of Specialist Physicians and Surgeons. And we advocate on behalf of all the children and youth in British Columbia in terms of health care needs.

When we have the funds, we film these sessions so that if you’re not able to attend, you can still gain a benefit from the lecture and discussion. These videos are posted in the Member Only section under CME and Education.

For these reasons, we really encourage all pediatricians to be members of the BC Pediatric Society.
